Welcome to tadka life

Why Tadka Life?

Because life, much like good food, needs a little tadka. A pinch of humour. A dash of irreverence. An unexpected ingredient. Without it, everything becomes predictable.
For over four decades I lived in boardrooms, airports, power plants and spreadsheets. Along the way, I realised that the most interesting stories were rarely found in annual reports. They were hiding in breakfast buffets, roadside dhabas, airport lounges, old Hindi films, books, family dining tables, bustling cities and conversations with complete strangers.
This is where I intend to write about them.
You’ll find essays on food, travel, business, books, cinema, current affairs and the delightful absurdities of everyday life. Sometimes I’ll be nostalgic. Sometimes provocative. Occasionally wrong. Hopefully never boring.
Use the menus above to wander through the different flavours of the website. There isn’t a prescribed route. Jump from a piece on mangoes to one on airport lounges, from Devdas to leadership, from Kolkata to corporate boardrooms. That’s exactly how my mind works.
The website itself is a work in progress. I’m learning as I go, experimenting with layouts, trying new ideas and discovering what works. If something looks different the next time you visit, that’s probably because I couldn’t resist tinkering with it.
Most importantly, there is a lot more to come.
The stories have been collecting for years. They just needed a place to live.
Welcome to Tadka Life.
Pull up a chair.
The conversation has only just begun.
